Workers go the extra mile
It is always great to receive positive feedback from our customers for the work we deliver. Our work takes our personnel all across the country, and while delivering projects to high quality and within set timeframes is our utmost priority, we also take great care when interacting within the communities in which we operate.
Ryan has been with MECX for more than three years and in addition to carrying out his duties at Lower Moslye Street tram line last week, he found himself helping a family whose car had a puncture.
“My parents, both in their 80’s had been to the Bridgewater Hall, Manchester for a Jazz concert and I was to pick them up after the concert. As I approached Lower Moseley Street, I discovered I had a puncture and pulled over just on the layby in front of Bridgewater Hall. My partner came out to help with the flat tyre whilst I waited for my parents.
There was a part missing from the tyre changing kit so I phoned our breakdown cover that was supposed to be arriving in half an hour but didn’t until two hours later.
A young man called Ryan, who was maintaining the points at Lower Mosley Street tram line, came over to see if he could help. In between dealing with the trams, he Googled the tool we needed and helped us improvise. My elderly parents by this time had to leave the hall as it was shut for the night and were waiting outside. Ryan gave his coat to my mum to keep her warm and helped us change the tyre.
Ryan is a credit to the company he works for, for the care and kindness he showed to me, my partner and elderly parents. Many people walked passed us that night, no one offered to help and some took great joy watching us struggling with the tyre with no key to take the wheel nut cover…
My mum, who is not very well, was so appreciative of what Ryan did for us on Saturday, we all are and I hope you can pass on our thanks to him.”
Thanks to Ryan from everyone at MECX for being an excellent employee and a caring individual. Your attitude serves as a great example to your fellow colleagues and is a testament to our commitment to look after people who live and work in the areas surrounding our schemes.
